The idea to perform a telematic database which includes production areas and local business activities comes from the knowledge of how it is difficult to accede easily to the information as regards the availability of areas that adapt both to business activities and their features and the information regarding all the other existing producing activities.

The reason why it is so difficult to accede to these data is related to the fragmented information kept by different local governments and because of the absence of a tool able to summarize them that permits a global view.

Sometimes, on the other hand, these information cannot be consulted by web.

This situation does not permit businessmen and their interlocutors (first of all Associations and Freelancers) – mainly, those who do not work on the territory and that do not directly know its general features – to have a global view of what the Municipality of Ravenna could offer from the economic point of view and its potential.

MIRA was born as a telematic tool for territorial integrated marketing just to satisfy this need.

The aim is to integrate all the information that are variously kept into separated data banks, showing a complete and final cartography concerning all the production area available for the implementation of new business settlements and the available information about those areas (including the municipal rules in force) and about the economic activities settled on the territory.

All this can be realized by means of a telematic and georeferenced tool which let you have an organic view and an easy consultation on the Internet. In this way, at the same time, it represents both a tool to work with and a mean to estimate and to promote all the opportunities offered by the territory.

First order of business that MIRA is going to achieve is in fact:

to let the economic operators pick out quickly which the available local production areas are, in order to settle their own activity, giving, at the same time, indication about the specific areas they are interested in;

• to offer town hall and all the other people who are interested a browsing tool which looks for all the data concerning the local existing business activities, including defined territories;

• to develop activity of promotion of the territory by offering georeferenced information on its economic structure, so that enterprises and potential investors out of the municipality can access, too.
